The AV Club presents a guide to classic TV westerns. I really like Peckinpah and I’d really like to see “The Westerner” sometime.
I found this while researching something else. El Pasoans live in the Cowboy Boot Capital Of The World, but don’t buy as many boots. The boots we do buy, we wear almost daily. Sounds about right to me.
I’m still working on Season One of The Bridge. There’s a lot of dramatic license, but overall, I think it’s a pretty good representation of El Paso. Season Two has just kicked off, and I can’t wait to dig in. One quibble so far: if they don’t play a Tom Russell song on this show, someone needs to get fired.

This Week I’m Drinking:
Monsoon season has come and the heat has let up a tiny bit. Enough to make me want to duck into a quiet, dark bar and drink a well margarita. I probably drink two margaritas a year. I don’t see the point of fancy ones, but then again, I’m not big on woo woo drinks either. Here’s a margarita drinking song that absolutely doesn’t suck:
